Graham School of Dance offers outstanding tuition in the Performing Arts for girls and boys from the age of 2 to 18, from absolute beginners to those wishing to train at the highest level. Classes are professionally run in a well-disciplined, happy and welcoming environment, and are offered in BALLET (Royal Academy of Dance), TAP and MODERN THEATRE DANCE (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing), as well as free-work training in JAZZ, MUSICAL THEATRE, CONTEMPORARY and COMMERCIAL/STREET DANCE.
PRE-SCHOOL children enjoy fun Nursery Ballet &Tap classes as an ideal introduction to Dance, and can soon be introduced to Modern Dance and Musical Theatre too.
We also offer PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE for students to help build technique, as well as private lessons upon request, so that everyone can maximise their potential and work to achieve their goals.

Pupils regularly win places in nationally acclaimed dance companies such as such as The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain, Chelmsford Youth Ballet and English Youth Ballet, and pupils have successfully auditioned to perform with top professional companies such as Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Phonics Stars™ Classes are designed to be fun, educational and interactive; and provide regular opportunities for young Children from around the age of two years to gain a gentle introduction to Phonics, develop those essential listening skills and build up their fine and gross motor muscle strength. We enable Children to gain knowledge in Phonics through play which helps them to feel positive about Phonics before starting school. But as importantly, Children also gain an opportunity to enhance their social skills and understand codes of behaviour, learning to share, take turns and have fun learning through play. Confidence, self-esteem and learning the art of conversation is positively encouraged throughout our activities. The U3A Tai Chi club is run for the Welwyn/Hatfield University of the Third Age (U3A) members on Thursdays 2-3pm. Anyone can come and watch but you have to join the U3A (for a small fee) in order to participate. Having joined the U3A all classes are free thereafter. The U3A is a world-wide not-for-profit self-help organisation (a registered charity) for people no longer in full-time paid employment which aims to provide opportunities for continuing intellectual, cultural and aesthetic development for its members.

The Welwyn Hatfield U3A is a thriving organisation for those individuals who are no longer working full time but wish to continue their learning through a range of actvities which promote intellectual, cultural, practical and aesthetic development. We are a self-help group learning from each other's experiences. We now have approximately 800 members and there are over 60 study groups which meet regularly. We hold weekly meetings on a Wednesday which are held alternately between Ludwick Hall and Breaks Manor. Speakers cover a wide range of topics, from, for example, stories about living in the walls of the Tower of London to Explorations in Antarctica. The doors open at 10am and talks start at 10.45am. The U3A Painting Group is run for the Welwyn/Hatfield University of the Third Age members on Mondays from 13:30 to 15:30.
You need to join the U3A in order to participate. The U3A is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full-time paid employment which aims to provide opportunities for continuing intellectual, cultural and aesthetic development for its members. The annual membership fee is around £16.
The Group is a simple forum for people who are interested in painting to come and “do their own thing” in a friendly and congenial atmosphere. There are no tutors, but members, who have varying degrees of experience, help each other out with comments and advice. Participants work in whatever media they prefer; many use watercolours, some oil or acrylic.

We cater for beginners as well as the more advanced, teaching the Yang style long form and, if required, broadsword form. It is run by Don, who has been learning and practising Tai Chi for 40 years and has been teaching it for more than 10 years.
Tai Chi is a slow form of exercise which is highly beneficial to your health and well-being, and is recommended by many doctors. It has also been the subject of a BBC TV programme explaining its many advantages: improving balance, co-ordination and flexibility whilst exercising the joints without any strain, it also activates the mind and is beneficial in delaying the onset of dementia in older people. It is calming to do and relaxing to watch, reducing stress and anxiety.
